Aim and Scope
Journal of Graph Theory and Algorithms (JGTA) is a peer-reviewed international journal dedicated to publishing high-quality original research on the theory of graphs and the design, analysis, engineering, and application of graph algorithms.
The journal aims to bridge pure graph theory, algorithmic graph theory, and real-world network science, while embracing emerging interdisciplinary frontiers. We welcome contributions that develop new theoretical results, propose efficient algorithmic solutions, or address computational challenges on large-scale graph data.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Graph theory: graph coloring, extremal graph theory, structural graph theory, algebraic graph theory, topological graph theory, graph enumeration (counting), topological indices (e.g., Wiener, Randić, Zagreb indices);
- Graph algorithms: shortest paths, flows, matching, subgraph isomorphism, graph computation (parallel, distributed, and streaming frameworks);
- Graph neural networks (GNNs): architectures (GCN, GAT, GraphSAGE, etc.), graph representation learning, expressiveness and theoretical understanding of GNNs, scalability, and applications in chemistry, biology, and social networks;
- Complex networks: network motifs, community detection, dynamic networks, robustness, diffusion processes, network evolution models;
- Quantum computing and graph theory: quantum graph algorithms (e.g., quantum walk, quantum shortest paths), graph states for quantum information, entanglement and graph properties, quantum complexity of graph problems;
- Combinatorial optimization and computational complexity of graph problems;
- Interdisciplinary applications: bioinformatics, knowledge graphs, transportation, recommendation systems, data science.
JGTA encourages reproducibility by recommending the submission of code, datasets, or algorithmic benchmarks. The journal publishes research articles, comprehensive reviews, short communications, and algorithm engineering reports. Our readership includes mathematicians, computer scientists, network scientists, AI researchers, quantum computing scientists, and data engineers who seek both theoretical rigor and practical impact.
Submission: Authors are requested to submit their papers electronically to yangyu@pdsu.edu.cn
Indexing and Abstracting: JGTA will be Google Scholar, Zenodo, OpenAIRE, Digital Object Identifier, Index Copernicus, Academia
Article Processing Charges: International Journal of Special Functions and Number Theory operates as a diamond open access journal with no article processing charges (APCs) for authors. Publication is completely free for authors, regardless of article type, length, or origin. There are no fees for submission, peer review, editing, production, or open access dissemination.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy: Journal of Graph Theory and Algorithms embraces Generative AI (GenAI) tools as supportive aids to enhance research quality and efficiency in data analysis, stochastic modeling, and related fields, while upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and originality. Corrections to Published Work:
Honest errors are a part of research and publishing and require publication of a correction when they are detected. We expect authors to inform the Journal’s Editor of any errors of fact they have noticed or been informed of in their article once published. Corrections are made at the journal’s discretion. The correction procedure depends on the publication stage of the article, but in all circumstances a correction notice is published as soon as possible. Details can be found on the Call for Papers section of the journal website.
Retractions: Retractions are considered by journal editors in cases of evidence of unreliable data or findings, plagiarism, duplicate publication, and unethical research. We may consider an expression of concern notice if an article is under investigation. All retraction notices will explain why the article was retracted. The retraction procedure depends on the publication stage of the article.
